       Town Councilwoman, December 2, 2014 - December 31, 2015

        Town Supervisor, 2010 - 2011

I've been observer and participant in our town government during most of my 45 years in Yorktown.

As a member of the former Yorktown League of Women Voters, as a resident, as Supervisor, and beginning in December, 2014 as a councilwoman. During those years, my concerns have been:

    • stronger land use regulations
    • environmental protection laws
    • fiscal responsibility
    • greater participation of the public in town affairs
    • the town's compliance with the Open Meetings and Freedom of Information Laws
    • sewers for those who want them
    • the creation of a Department of Public Works
    • the appointment of a professional town administrator
    • . . . and many other issues

In 2008, I co-founded Citizens for an Informed Yorktown (CIY) in an effort to provide residents with online factual summaries of Town Board and Planning Board meetings.

In 2009, concerned about the direction the Town was taking, I decided to run for supervisor and pursue an agenda for a Better Yorktown Government.

During my two years in office, I was proud to have undertaken many initiatives that conotinue to provide lasting benefits to Yorktown residents.

Between  2012-2014, I continued my involvement in town affairs and resumed hosting the Citizens for an Informed Yorktown web site. I also the Yorktown Better Government web site in iorder to share more in-depth iinformation about selected town issues with residents.

My hope is that this website, along with the Citizens for an Informed Yorktown web site, will provide my fellow residents with the information they need so that they can make their own informed decisions on the town issues that are of importance to them.
